Good to see the new exhibition Herbert Art Gallery & Museum curated by @johnypitts with Jason Scott Tilley yesterday. Lots of fantastic work by Joanne Coates. Jim Mortram and many others. Elaine Constantine work on the soul scene brings back memories, I must scan my negs of the scooter scene c2000.

Teacher training day = extra holidays. Testing chemistry and a new (to me) Lancaster camera with the kids ready for a workshop next week with The Courtauld Research Forum #materialwitness #tintype #wetplate #collodion #photohistory

Well done to all at ACE Midlands ArtRiotCollective and Jason Scott Tilley. Toolkit for galleries working with neurodivergent and disabled artists incoming! bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

The most amazing charity shop buy ever, thanks to Age UK Coventry&Warwickshire for taking care to find me with original letters and materials relating to pete james and George Shaw. Tom in the Leamington shop is brilliant and deserves 👏. So glad these important documents are now safely on my desk

Good to see these exhibitions today and catch up with Jason Scott Tilley

An interesting couple of days listening to contemporary photographers, thanks to Dr Caroline Molloy (PhD) (she/her) for organising. Not a bad start to my 40th year too, thanks to @MelanieKKing.

Just finished this summer reading, thanks @SiobhanAngus and Everyone Active for entertaining the kids. Great conclusion which resonates with thinking through my thesis. ‘If we want to address the challenges of the present, the past holds so many potential answers for us’ p.229

For a third time after 2019 and 2023, Bibliotheca Hertziana and Folkwang Universität will host a photo-historical seminar for doctoral and post-doctoral scholars: taking place in Rome from March 17–21, 2025. Our co-host will be @LukeGartlan. I am glad to share our call: foto.folkwang-uni.de/de/journal/new…
