Despite the sheer number of attendees #AUA25 I ran across our two past residents Penn State Urology who graduated in 2019 mingling with Susan MacDonald, MD our current program director: Chris Riney & Neil J. Kocher, MD FPMRS - they are looking well (and alike)

One of the great benefits of attending #AUA25 is meeting colleagues you have worked w/ and catching up on what they have been doing over lunch: Peter Pinto is still working at National Cancer Institute and Leah McMann, pediatric urologist is still in Hawaii, living and working in paradise

At today's reception for Amer. Urol. Assn. Guidelines Committee members I was fortunate to meet Dr. Michel Labreque, vasectomist extraordinaire (rather than zoom) & meet Dr. Steven Maislos (on BPH Guidelines committee) - very educational to trade notes on practice patterns #AUA25

The Penn State Urology Alumni & Staff reception at the "Flight Club" at #AUA25 was a great success - got to meet our past and current residents, associates and meet fellow staff in a nonacademic, relaxed environment.

An informal gathering of former residents & staff from the Tripler Army Medical Center urology residency program #AUA25 - I'm the oldest, but the younger ones are now program directors or chiefs of the urology service, or thriving in their current practice all across the US

Congrats to Joris Vangeneugden for the best video for today's Video Session 11 (Misc Benign / Transplant / Renovascular): Pediatric robot-assisted kidney transplantation: the European experience, and many thanks to my co-moderators Max Levine & Mohamed Eltemamy #AUA25 Amer. Urol. Assn.

Pleased to see our article “National Trends in Surgical Mx for BPH from 2013 2019” that made the cover of Urology Practice and authored by Jacob Feiertag, MD when he was a medical student (now MD) and did research Penn State Urology was shown during the BPDSociety meeting this AM #AUA25

Congratulations to Dr. Blake Baer (PGY3 resident) Penn State Urology for earning 1st place as the oral presentation winner at today's Resident/Fellow Research Day. The certificate was presented by our DIO, Dr. Karl Clebak.

Weekend urology resident call crew Penn State Urology: PGY3 Zack Tully, PGY4 Max Yudovich, MD, PGY2 Stephen Sekoulopoulos, MD, & PGY1 Raidizon Mercedes, MD, MS - all smiling and looking upbeat (perhaps because the weekend is almost over) despite a busy inpt service & many consults to the ED, & operative cases.

Today Dr. Raj Kothapalli and his research assistants Penn State Biomedical Engineering visited us Penn State Urology Penn State Health for continuing collaboration on developing a transrectal ultrasound probe with photoacoustic imaging capabilities.

Some of our research staff Penn State Urology helping to facilitate clinical trials, assisting residents in research projects, and contributing to the mission of the Urology Department.

Congrats to rising star MS4 Meghan Matheny who will be applying for urology residency & did research w/ us publishing "Edema of the Scrotum and Penile Shaft: An Uncommon Initial Presentation of Acquired Angioedema” use this link to access the article: doi.org/10.1155/2024/9…

Congratulations to PGY2 Jenny Kane and her fiancé Sam. They got engaged last November. Shows that you can be a busy resident Penn State Urology and still have a social life.

Congratulations to our 3 graduating residents Penn State Urology: Austin Bramwell, Shawn Smith & Christian Hague - we celebrated 🥂the culmination of 5 years of training tonight and they sure look happy!

Special thanks to our past graduates of Penn State Urology: Mike Mawhorter, MD, Josh Eccles, MD, & Alexander Birk, MD who were able to attend tonight's resident graduation - good to see that our past alumni are doing well and thriving in practice!!

Thanks to friends, family, and staff Penn State Urology who were able to attend tonight's graduation at the Hershey Lodge to honor and celebrate the accomplishments of our 3 residents: Shawn Smith, Austin Bramwell, and Christian Hague 🎉👏

The long 4th of July weekend call crew Penn State Urology: all recently promoted: PGY4 Blake Baer, PGY3 Stephen Sekoulopoulos, MD, PGY3 Jill Patel, and PGY2 Lakshay Khosla - great job during this busy holiday weekend seeing consults, taking care of the inpatients, and operating.
