Certain commentators love to lambast the NHS's "appalling" track record on cancer outcomes. As ever, the truth is more complicated, as this letter forensically explains. In fact, on age-adjusted cancer mortality (the correct stat), we rank 3rd best in Europe. Which is superb.

Such an interesting and readable paper with lots of exciting avenues for improving outcomes..... with some very old drugs!

A great day of live endoscopy beamed from Amsterdam to chilly Manchester. A good local discussion as well re taking ERCP and interventional EUS forward in the north of England.

Thanks to Professor Drewes for two extremely comprehensive lectures in two days on pancreatic pain. The number 1 issue for our patients, the path to progress is long but like other areas personalised medicine is coming
