Always fun to watch this looping animation of Augusta's 15th "Firethorn" hole morphing between its 1934 and 2022 states.

The incredible topography and elevation changes of Augusta National. The highest point is around the 1st green, and the lowest is at Rae's Creek, at the base of the bunker that fronts the 12th green. The 10th tee has roughly the same elevation as the 8th green.

Like most of the holes, the 5th at Augusta has seen its fair share of changes. Check out that beautifully shaped drive bunker from 1934.

It’s been altered numerous times, and now bears relatively little resemblance to its original style and design, but Augusta’s 15th never fails to produce unforgettable moments. What a shot, Rory. One for the ages 🔥

One of the strangest and most memorably excellent greens in existence. The “Gate” 16th hole at North Berwick. This is derived from 50cm lidar data, so it’s not massively precise, but it’s probably pretty close.

“Alps” has been in use at Hoylake since the earliest days of the course, with multiple different holes bearing the name. Today’s Alps has been in situ since 1923, and it’s a wonderful 1-shotter.

I've been putting some meat on the bones of a simple routing concept. I've tried to marry an excellence of landscape with a solid variety of hole designs. If and when time allows, I may add more meat to these bones.

The 3rd is one of my favourites. It's a relatively uncomplicated, yet quite strategic, long-ish 2-shotter.
