i will never forget the sight of labour mps cheering and whooping a labour chancellor who just announced welfare cuts even deeper than those that led to the deaths of 300,000 people under last round of austerity, whilst committing to pouring billions into weapons and weapons war.

Still kills me how we're expected to pretend this guy is an indigenous middle easterner when he sounds exactly like a cast member on The Sopranos.

Pope Francis used his last public address to call for a ceasefire in Gaza. Even as he was hospitalised, he maintained his commitment to check in on a daily basis with priests and parishioners at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Gaza City. Rest in peace.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Dr Tanya Haj-Hassan for your courage, passion and eloquence. Watch EVERY MINUTE of this extraordinary interview about the grotesque murder of 9 siblings in Gaza. I just don't know how she holds it together. /1

It's been a while, but I've written a review of the new PULP album for The Thin Air. I think I've successfully conveyed that it's a really good album, especially if you're a Pulp fan. That's the much shorter version - you're very welcome. X thethinair.net/2025/06/pulp-m…

Having run out of children to kill in Gaza, it appears Israel is now targeting children in Iran. This was Tehran just hours ago.

How handy having our journalists in Israel but not in Gaza is that every bit of destruction, injury and death in Israel is humanised, whereas the stuff going on in Gaza, is all seen through the lens of 'as alleged by Hamas', from which we should assume it's all lies. Apparently.
