Very nice work confirming tumour dynamics during treatment for #glioblastoma, as we reported in 2021 (Stewart et al). Evidence is mounting for routine adaptive RT using MR guidance as we do on the Elekta MR-Linac Consortium. Brain tumours don't move, they migrate! pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39357789/
What we are learning from Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre about GBM radiation treatment is that the non-adaptive “large margin” strategy both over treats normal brain AND still misses. National Brain Tumor Society
Huge step forward as we completed the first MRI-gated breathhold sbrt treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center using the Elekta Unity MRL. Real time MRI obtained 5x per second allowed the patient to see their own anatomy. Shoutout to Jinzhong Yang and the MRL team for making it happen.
Amazing technology……As a 10+ year MD Anderson Cancer Center RCC patient and recent recipient of IMRT on this unique Elekta Unity MR-Linac, many thanks to my entire team including the guidance of Chad Tang, MD, you, and the entire radiation therapist and physics team!
