Strange how some ‘adults’ appear to feel threatened by this powerful, thoughtful, considered ‘user review’ of education. Dismissal of these insights are not just disrespectful but implies a lack of willingness to listen and learn…

Deeply disappointed if this is being adopted as the approach to secondary ITT. Great teacher training never teaches a generic thing and then “applies it in a subject”. Tragic waste of valuable ITT time that needs to begin with and stay with distinctive subject building blocks.

The government falsely close down ITE providers over ‘quality’ losing 4.5k places - then plan to use additional financial incentives to recruit teachers from overseas where the same quality requirements don’t apply. Desperate and stupid isn’t a good look… #ITTMarketReview

Declan Cashin The kids are adorable but not enough credit goes to Robert E Kelly's wife. That is one of the smoothest infiltration and extraction I've ever seen. She must be a Navy Seal or SAS at least.

The National Audit Office - the govt finance watchdog- finds that OFSTED can’t provide evidence that they improve standards - Ruth Perry: Schools cut Ofsted references in tribute bbc.co.uk/news/education…

Absolutely agree here. There is a place for evaluation in any education setting including coaching and mentoring for improvement but the pressure caused but inspections and the lasting effects on a now burnt-out workforce is a pressure that the teaching profession could do without

BREAKING Ofsted have confirmed that a pilot visit to test their new inspection framework was made in 2019 to Caversham Primary school. In addition to inspectors – the Chief Inspector Amanda Spielman was present as an observer. Ruth Perry told parents feedback was glowing

Five reasons why Ofsted (or any inspectorate) makes schools WORSE, not better. 1. The assumption is that all inspectors know what makes for a good school. Some do. Some don’t. Inspections are wildly different. An inspector with a bee in his bonnet about x, fails you 1/12

So, Terry Pearson (Terry Pearson) and I have started looking at government legislation to determine what Ofsted can and can’t do. … it seems like there has NEVER been legislation for Ofsted to inspect using grades. The initial legislation of 1992 required a format decided by HM

As of this week I have resigned from Ofsted as an inspector. I do think that there is place for external scrutiny of schools, however the political agenda that seems to be driving the inspectorate, coupled with the toxicity of some inspection teams,
