Macy’s is closing 150 stores nationwide. Downtown Boston’s may survive, thanks to the data center upstairs. bostonglobe.com/2025/05/20/bus… Jon Chesto

Patrick Roath Jon Chesto In my view, the economic history of downtown can be told by one word: MBTA Failure of ā€œleadersā€ to invest heavily in MBTA, instead allowing it to crumble over a period of decades. High density of jobs downtown depend on public transit, not cars. MBTA was a gift to Boston.

This inevitably raises the question: If the team can share a stadium with the Revs next year, why not in future years? bostonglobe.com/2025/05/21/spo… via The Boston Globe

Jon Chesto The Boston Globe Well, the new Revs stadium must be at least 5 years away. But it's a poor decision to play the inaugural season at Gillette. You want an exciting venue you can sell out & have a rabid fan experience. Paying to get VAR into one of the urban college venues would have been wiser.

It's amazing that the Coast Guard has waited this long... maybe they were waiting for the harbor rezoning to be done, in which case they will have to wait even longer. bostonglobe.com/2025/05/22/bus… via The Boston Globe

Market Basket by the numbers: 90 supermarkets, 30,000 workers, $7 billion in revenue. ā€œIt isn’t responsible to consolidate all decision-making into the hands of a single person,ā€ said one board member involved in the coup. (reporting by Jon Chesto)

Ben Berke (@benberke6) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Jon Chesto Many of you will remember the Market Basket war of 2014. The workers stood with Arthur T last time, walking out of supermarkets to prevent his cousin Arthur S from taking more control. The big question now is, are we facing another mass walkout like that again?
