P/O Wycliff Stuart Williams was born in 1920 in New Zealand 🇳🇿 Joining the RAF in 1938 he was posted to No.266 Sqn. On 21/10/40 his Spitfire X4265 stalled & crashed shortly after refuelling at RAF Stradishall after intercepting a raid & Williams was killed aged just 20. #thefew

Who else would you bump into on a Spitfire flightline, but Jonny Cracknell. We had a great day watching warbirds tussle in clear blue skies. Fascinating discussion with the pilots about the relative merits of the Spitfire, the 109 and the P51 Mustang.

An epic day & privilege sailing on ‘Lucy Lavers’ - an RNLI Lifeboat - 85 years on from when she was one of the ‘Little Ships’ at Dunkirk during Operation Dynamo. She helped evacuated troops from the beaches between 31st May-4th June 1940 #Dunkirk #OperationDynamo

Sgt Ernest Bloor, born 1914 joined the RAF in 1930. After pilot training he joined No.46 Sqn flying Hurricanes during the #BattleofBritain He was killed age 27 on 27/8/41 flying with No.1 Sqn - Hurricane Z3843 crashed after its engine cut out. He baled out but was sadly too low.
