There’s a gorgeous crispness to the light this morning in London. If hope is anything, it’s a sense that everything can be made new.

The Times is reporting that the public would like knife carriers to do national service. Only 1 tiny problem: when tried, it INCREASED crime 👇 (Other than that, it’s fab) youthendowmentfund.org.uk/toolkit/boot-c…

Tough decision by the Met, but I'm sympathetic. Money v tight, so prioritise most proven approaches. That means 1. More youth workers than police in schools. 2. More police officers in the places where children are most likely to be victims (normally not schools).

Some good news 👇. Hotspots policing is when police daily patrol places where residents are most likely to get robbed or attacked. It’s highly effective at preventing crime. Good to see government commitment to it 👇(youthendowmentfund.org.uk/toolkit/hot-sp…)

The Cry We All Know: A Holy Week Reflection by Chine McDonald I often burst into my children’s rooms when I hear them cry out following a night terror. Being comforted by our parents in the midst of pain or anguish describes a basic human need. Sociologist Peter L. Berger
