Claiming that immigrants are "poisoning the blood of the country" is the literal language of Hitler's Mein Kampf. Trump and his allies are openly embracing fascism, and it's time for the media to stop being scared to use that word.

I've been following and reporting on Patrick Byrne for years and none of this is surprising. He is a spoiled trust fund baby who is an idiot who thinks he's smart. He's rotten human and a criminal who only hasn't been arrested because he's rich.

Happy Holidays to all our friends who are, understandably, still over here. As noted, no new content for this platform, but I will mention a new edition of the newsletter's out. Take care out there in the Slow Apocalypse. buttondown.email/kungfumonkey/a…

30 years into my professional writing career I took MRK's short story class and found it very, very useful. I'll absolutely be back this year for a few of these. Take a look!

The number of messages I have gotten from cisgender people who read Pamela Paul's article and were nearly swayed until reading mine easily debunking it is unreal. I am glad I am able to fight back. But I do NOT have the reach that the New York Times has to offer.

Just peer-reviewed a forensic analysis in a case. The suspect mailed a package with a hidden Apple AirTag in it to a victim's old home address. The package was forwarded to her new (and formerly safe) address.... Might be good to warn DV victims of unexpected mail.

For the pro-monopoly crowd that absolutely dominated antitrust law from the Carter administration until 2020, Amazon presents a genuinely puzzling paradox: the company's monopoly power was *never* supposed to emerge, and if it did, it should have crumbled immediately. 1/
