The problem with binge-reading the The New Yorker, say, once a month is that I’m only now reading the early November issues, and bloody hell, it’s depressing on this side of the election.

I’m going to put this out on #AnglicanTwitter or indeed just church-friendly Twitter: a tree fell in our churchyard, which nearly crushed it. The bill for its removal is a big chunk of our annual budget. So, we’re raising funds to help us defray costs! underthedowns.co.uk/cockingchurchy…

Dear Pope Leo XIV, imma just gonna leave this here churchofengland.org/about/governan…

One of the most disappointing things that affects me personally about the The Labour Party government is the increase of the bus fare cap from £2 to £3. Bus companies are charging the full £3 even for very short distances, as you’d expect. Now, the school run costs £12/day.

Just received my author copies of The Bible For Normal People's Opinions God’s Stories children’s Bible story book. It’s gorgeous! What a deep privilege to have been asked to contribute to such treasure.

A country that takes carbon neutrality seriously would not make 5-year-olds going to school pay for the bus. The Labour Party

Is there some reason the 60 bus is going to be 25 minutes late when it only goes every 30 mins? And yet the school run costs me ÂŁ12 a day? Stagecoach South

What I want for Christmas is for The Labour Party and other politicians to stop scapegoating immigrants for your own inability to build and maintain infrastructure.

What I want for Christmas is for politicians to stop scapegoating immigrants for the UK’s inability to build and maintain infrastructure, while also desperately needing foreign labour to prop the same infrastructure up. It is disingenuous and ugly. The Labour Party Keir Starmer
