A thread 1/ I’m terribly saddened to hear of the closure of the Cervantes Theatre in Southwark. I know that it has been a real struggle for the co-founders, Jorge de Juan and Paula Paz and their trustees (of which I was very proud to be included for a brief while) over 7 years…

2/ to keep the theatre running; and it is an arts tragedy that they have ultimately been defeated. The Cervantes Theatre may have been cash poor but it was full of artistic riches - I saw so many productions there and never anything that fell short of excellent…..

3/ highlights for me included Jorge’s Lorca trilogy and Paula’s tragic-comic Ay Carmela and Darwin’s Tortoise amongst many others. It’s a sad time for the arts.

He visto la mini serie de cuatro capítulos La Palma en Netflix España. Es apoteósica, sublime, me ha tenido totalmente hipnotizado. Lo peor es que refleja estudios reales sobre un posible tsunami en la isla canaria. Como dicen al final: deberíamos escuchar más a la naturaleza.
