I had high hopes for The Labour Party after decades of destructive Tory policies. Those hopes are slowly but surely eroded. The government is imho about to throw UK Creative Industries (and others) to the wolves by allowing AI companies unfettered access/training..and now we know why.

If the media ecosystem is vital, why is The Labour Party allowing AI companies to steal media by failing to require them to be transparent about their training data?

Curious why Peter Kyle keeps engaging in #Torytactics Opt-in isn’t a workable solution - he knows this but prefers it as it allows unhindered training by AI companies, or if he doesn’t, clearly hasn’t listened to Labours consultation earlier this year or creative industries 5x.

Can we have an Amen?

How about bringing wordclass & transformational protections to the UK Creative Sector? You know, standing up for the little guy and all that, something that according to your own party's manifesto you're all about? You could be world leading in IP and Copyright protections!

Aside from the Creative Industries, who we'll happily throw under the bus. Who knew it would only take a sandwich and a coffee at Pret to give US AI companies free access to train on all our IP? Cheapest. date. ever....

Pondering…shouldn’t money laundering laws apply to generative AI? The idea of stealing/acquiring something illegally, then whitewashing it by mixing it up with other (illegal) bits and repackaging it as a new original thing sounds awfully similar to me… Ed Newton-Rex

The major labels should not settle with Suno & Udio. Doing so would show future tech companies that exploiting people's music without a license is the way to win, and would be a blow to musicians everywhere.
