Register by 28 February for the 2nd African Forum on Urban Forests! 📍18-21 March 2025, Johannesburg, South Africa 🔗afuf.co.za #AFUF2025 FAO in Africa FAOSouthAfrica City of Joburg The Centre on African Public Spaces (CAPS) UN-Habitat Africa

We've launched a Community of Practice & co-created a roadmap for the African Nature-Based Solutions Network under The Centre on African Public Spaces (CAPS). This milestone took place at the 2nd African Forum on Urban Forests (#AFUF2025) co-organized by CAPS, FAO Forestry, City of Joburg and UN-Habitat.

After 12 years, I returned to #Guangzhou to join the int’l seminar on “Sustainable Renewal of #HistoricDistricts in #Megacities” & launch the Sustainable Urban Planning Lab a collaboration between UN-Habitat & Guangzhou Urban Planning Design & Survey Research Institute.

At the #UNHabitatAssembly, the message was clear: #ThrivingCities start with people-centered planning. Through the #GlobalPublicSpaceProgramme & Flagship 1 programme on #UrbanRegeneration, UN-Habitat is advancing vibrant, safe and inclusive #neighbourhoods and #publicspaces.

Pleased to speak at Shanghai University on the role of #UrbanRegeneration & #PublicSpaces in sustainable urban development. Following Remy Sietchiping’s talk on UN-Habitat’s work for sustainable urbanization. Excited to engage with students and faculty on shaping better cities!

Honoured to represent UN-Habitat on my first mission as Lead of Flagship Programme 1: Inclusive Communities, Thriving Cities focused on #UrbanRegeneration- 2025 Shanghai Urban Regeneration Roadshow and Seminar. 🔗 unhabitat.org/programme/incl…
