Raise your hand if you thought, at the halfway point, the Toronto Blue Jays would be on the cusp of the same record as the LA Dodgers. If you raised your hand, put it down — you’re a liar.

Can we all agree his press conference at the start of the week was never him saying that he didn’t care or that he doesn’t want success as much as anyone else out there?? Surely it was him saying exactly what that Nike ad says. You can be the most competitive person in the

Deal. Hold them accountable. How? Fine them? How much? How many errors are they allowed to make? Fire them? Call up the AAA umpires who are worse? What are the impacts to grassroots umpires? If you say "Not my job to figure out", then don't say it to begin with.

Given the run differential over the last 65 games, what’s the stat that shows the Jays are legit? You don’t win 70% of your last 70 games and attribute it all to luck.

In light of my earlier tweet, do we reward umpires for getting this call exactly correct? Like an in-game bonus or something?

Never in baseball's 150-year history has a player finished a game with at least six hits, six runs and eight RBIs until Nick Kurtz tonight. His 19 total bases tie Shawn Green's single-game record -- and Kurtz had one more RBI. There's a genuine argument it is the best game ever.

Since RBI became official in 1920, only one MLB player has had, over the course of his entire career (same game or not), a game with 4+ HR a game with 5+ XBH a game with 6+ hits a game with 6+ runs a game with 8+ RBI That one player is Nick Kurtz. He did it all tonight.

Since *May 1st* the Blue Jays' position player group, according to FanGraphs, has been the best in baseball by more than three wins at 17.9 WAR. Nobody else has even 15 WAR. Only one other team, the Cubs, is above 13.6. They lead in both offensive and defensive components of WAR.

Interesting. Harper is the right guy to put Manfred in his place. Manfred will last longer than Harper, but Harper will be top of the list of players to keep happy. sportsnet.ca/mlb/article/re…
