Interesting, but also tragic. Other studies show that as local news dries up, people turn to inflammatory outlets, and become more extreme politically. This is the heart of why we need trust.txt & Journal_List, so the platforms can reliably tell if local news outlets are legit.

Now that the Infrastructure bill is law, the importance of strong local news gets even more crucial, as local reporters help prevent waste, fraud and abuse. The local news payroll tax credit will end up saving taxpayers a lot of 💰, but only if the Senate keeps it in the bill.
