Michael Levitt, MD et al. review and summaraize the compelling final results of the three randomized trials on middle meningeal artery embolization for chronic subdural hematoma: bit.ly/3BW0X8s #subduralhematoma #endovascular #neurointervention Felipe C. Albuquerque

This just out! My colleague Peter Dirks and his lab published on the origins of Glioblastoma from neural precursor cells in a manner similar to injury reprogramming. In nature this week! #glioblastoma #stemcells The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) U of T Department of Surgery University of Toronto Neurosurgery

Interesting paper by Ameer E. Hassan . I would ask how does having a neurosurgeon creating cranial access for the interventionist to aspirate clot 1. advance quality patient care? 2. improve cost of care (two services doing a procedure one service can do)? #progress?

Outstanding lineup for AANS in Boston! Couldn’t be happier with this list! Register before Jan 13 for early bird rates at annualmeeting.aans.org/registration/ It is going to be epic! How long do you keep patients on dual antiplatelets for stent-assisted coiling? You will be surprised what the data shows! The latest JNIS #podcast discusses Dr. Ringer et al bit.ly/3WeXd92 paper on the impact of DAPT duration on complications Mayfield Brain & Spine

On the medium/distal vessel trials, I agree with J Mocco, MD, MS (link to NEJM editorial below), the elephant in the room being the overuse of stentrievers. Personally, I wouldn’t consider using a stentriever beyond proximal M2, and the reason why might be more intuitive for surgeons

Great time catching up with friends, colleagues and mentors at #spinesummit2025 Wild that this was my last AANS/CNS Spine Section meeting as a trainee.

The March episode of the CNS Journal Club Podcast is out now! Tune in to hear Tomas Garzon-Muvdi interview Ramin Morshed about his article on gene expression changes with recurrence of Grade 1 Meningiomas. Listen now wherever you listen to your podcasts: bit.ly/43qwCun
