Scientists from our Beck Laboratory have visualized the structural dynamics of ribosomes in human cells for the first time. Using #cryoET, they generated 3D images of ribosomes in action & deciphered the target site & mode of action of a leukemia drug 👉biophys.mpg.de/cellular-decod…
Excited to share our in situ #CryoET story on the effect of a top antimalarial drug candidate on the translational landscape in #CryoFIB-milled malaria parasites! So proud of this massive team effort with Leonie Anton @_wenjing_cheng_ Meseret Haile David🥰#officially #teamtomo
How can genetic perturbation of a central scaffolding component of the #nuclearpore result in a tissue specific defect? Work by Reiya_Taniguchi and others in collaboration with Valerie Doye makes this more conceivable (Max Planck Institute of Biophysics Institut Jacques Monod): biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Looking for a #PhDposition in the #LifeSciences? #Apply to our #gradschool on cellular #biophysics! Prepare your documents & contact your referees. In a great collaboration with Hummer Lab and the Kräusslich lab, Jan Philipp Kreysing, Maziar Heidari, Vojtech Zila and others tackle what happens when HIV capsid goes through an NPC. Instead of the NPC cracking the capsid, the capsid appears to crack the NPC (Max Planck Institute of Biophysics CIID_Heidelberg).
Can highly recommend applying to this PhD program. I'm now in my third year here and couldn't be happier. IMPRS on Cellular Biophysics Max Planck Institute of Biophysics
Check out now why thinner is not always better 👉science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… Congratulations on this fantastic work to the authors M. W. Tuijtel, Sergio Cruz-León, Jan Philipp Kreysing, Sonja Welsch, G. Hummer (Hummer Lab), M. Beck (Beck Laboratory) and B. Turonova 🥳
We are excited to announce the publication of high confidence 3D template matching for #cryoET Hummer Lab Beck Laboratory Jan Philipp Kreysing @geissler_katha @s_l_schaefer @pc_hoffmann Max Planck Institute of Biophysics CZI Science Paper's link: nature.com/articles/s4146… See it in action in our short video!
Did you know that nuclear pore complexes can turn up outside the nuclear envelope? Studying these, Jenny Sachweh, Bernhard Hampoelz and others uncover that the surrounding cellular milieu determines NPC composition via the nuclear transport system itself. #teamtomo #NPC A 🧵
… and perfect timing. Work by Huaipeng Xing with Frydman Lab out nature. PDCD5 binds virtually all open #TRiC, while closed TRiC forms clusters inside of cells. Congrats to all authors. rdcu.be/d3dmN
So happy that my main PhD project on HIV-1 nuclear entry is now out in Cell. I want to especially thank my supervisor Martin Beck Laboratory and our amazing collaborators Maziar Heidari from Hummer Lab, Vojtech Zila from the Kräusslich lab and many others.
I will from now on only be posting on bluesky Jan Philipp Kreysing.bsky.social
