Calling all postdocs working in cancer research in Australia - register (for free) and submit your abstracts now for the 6th VCCC Alliance Postdoc Symposium: Advances in Cancer Research vcccalliance.org.au/events/6th-vcc… Abstract deadline: Wed 19th April

#MayIsMelanomaAwarenessMonth. Lewis Au, a postdoc with Melanoma MRV Neeson Lab, investigates immunological mechanisms regulating metastatic relapse of resected stage II melanoma. His research may help better select patients for adjuvant #immunotherapy.

#MayIsMelanomaAwarenessMonth. Dr Aparna Rao, a postdoc with McArthur Laboratory, investigates the metabolism of melanoma cells. Her research may better predict patient relapse and help us to understand what causes resistance to immunotherapy and other targeted therapies.

#MayIsMelanomaAwarenessMonth. Dr Reem Saleh, a postdoc with McArthur Laboratory, characterizes melanoma cell phenotypes and their responses to immuno- and targeted therapies. Her research will help us to understand melanoma biology and identify novel resistance mechanisms to therapies.

There’s still time to register for the VCCC Alliance Postdoc Symposium: Friday 23rd June, Melbourne Brain Centre. Don’t miss your chance to hear exciting research from your fellow postdocs, and keynote speakers Dr Nadia Davidson (Nadia Davidson) and Dr Pouya Faridi (@pfaridi).

The program for the 2023 VCCC Alliance Postdoc Symposium is here! Register now to hear about the amazing cancer research by early and mid-career postdocs. This event is FREE and virtual attendance is available for postdocs not based in Melbourne.

#JulyisHeadNeckCancerawarenessmonth. Dr Alesha Thai (Ben Solomon lab) studies the interplay between immune responses and tumour/viral aetiologies in Head and Neck cancer. She aims to identify underlying pathobiology that drives disparate survival outcomes of patients.

Thank you @PanKind_APCF for this generous grant. Kudos to Jennifer Devlin for her enormous role in conceiving the study and driving the application. Looking forward to rolling the sleeves up and cracking on now Peter Mac Cancer Centre Peter Mac Research
