I've been working on DALEC (github.com/Azure/dalec), which is a declarative way to build system packages and distroless container images. We are leveraging this project internally for better control over our supply chain. This is all made to work with `docker build`, btw.

containerd 2.0 took a *long* time to get out the door. The time it took is largely the reason why the upgrade should be relatively pain-free despite some breaking changes. (love to hear if you are having a problem upgrading, btw!)
