A fully computational model to predict speech performance of cochlear implant users, from microphone input to listener's phoneme confusions. Finally out: doi.org/10.1109/TBME.2… with manohar bance, Cambridge Hearing Group, Iwan Roberts, Tobias Goehring

Congratulations Richard from ISVRsouthampton and Guy's and St Thomas' on your PhD. It was an honour to be a first reader/examiner of this great work on improving diagnoses by applying deep learning to neuroscientific measures.

I'm officially to loudness what A4 is to paper. 🙃 Our computational model has become international standard ISO 532-3, contributing to a quieter world and UN UN DESA Sustainable Development Goal 3 Healthy Lives and Well-Being. iso.org/standard/69856… Sustainable UCL

Michael Chesnaye from ISVRsouthampton just got our paper accepted in IEEE Transactions on Biomedial Engineering . It's about faster measurements of auditory brainstem responses by using Bayesian active learning. Soon to be found here: doi.org/10.1109/TBME.2… IEEE Engineering Medicine and Biology Society

Later today at the Cambridge Hearing Group Christmas Symposium. Also in Potsdam next month, still a few (but not many) tickets left: speech-in-noise.eu

The thinker and the listener, that's what my lab is about. Thx to the The Royal Society for this research grant that allows us high-quality recordings for auditory perception. We'll work on the thinker. (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thinker_o…)

Back to Manchester, invited by UK Acoustics Network Plus to give a talk on loudness at Acoustics 2024, today, 10:30.
