This "ruling" — 5 months after the election — would require 60000+ NC voters who cast a ballot legally to somehow "cure" those ballots w/ ~2 weeks notice. It also tosses other eligible ballots completely. Should it stand, it's the end of free and fair elections as we know them.

To attack military votes, the GOP judges scolded the NCSBE for allowing “individuals living in foreign countries, who vote in [NC] elections, to be exempt from our State’s voter ID laws"— omitting that ALL STATES exempt these voters from ID laws, per NCSBE lawyers #ncpol

Those most harmed by today's ruling will surprise no one. Griffin disproportionately challenged young and Black voters. Military ballots targeted are from only FOUR* blue counties. But make no mistake if a ruling like this stands no one's votes are safe. newsweek.com/north-carolina…

Berger six weeks ago: “The equities are with the voters there. I don’t think that they had a way of knowing that that was a deficiency as far as their registration is concerned." Today, two COA judges put the onus on the voters to correct clerical errors that weren't their fault.

Not sure why it’s controversial to oppose eligible voters from all parties having their legal ballots tossed or potentially tossed by partisan judges months after an election at the behest of the losing candidate. The loser should not have to be a D for this to matter to an R.

👉🏻 The News & Observer: Jefferson Griffin..."has finally conceded that he lost his bid for a seat on the state Supreme Court. But the more significant loser in this case is the state Supreme Court itself and its chief justice Paul Newby." #ncpol newsobserver.com/opinion/articl…

On Wednesday, the GOP's streak of 17 consecutive statewide judicial victories will end, as Riggs will have her state Supreme Court win certified. Since GOP lawmakers made such judicial contests partisan, Republicans have gone 22-5. #ncpol
