The chasm between what colleges are doing and looking for on the recruiting side and what parents think they are looking for is massive.

Spoke to a parent today who sends their kid to a club they “hate” but thinks they’re the obvious option. Our club has repeatedly heard from schools that they don’t recruit from this club and are tired of seeing their teams. “We know what we’re getting and we don’t like it.”

Players: Put your head down and go to work. Train and practice like you’re the worst player in the world. It’s the only thing you can completely control

Actions speak louder than words. You can say you prioritize development as a player, but leaving the club that looses sleep over its development processes for a club that notoriously says and does little for their players’ abilities would prove you to be misguided

Most hitters think of timing as a skill, static by nature. It’s more accurate to think of timing as the hitters’ task pitch to pitch, knowing that pitchers use changes in speed to get you out. The real skill is each athlete’s ability to ADJUST their timing quickly.

I would add how well you get to know your players which in turn builds a trusting relationship. Players grow in that type of environment.

Whole heartedly agree. There’s a rule in our cage that you don’t get to “see one” when the machine gets fired up. You jump in there ready to hit and you send the first one back where it came from.

Majority of young baseball players play baseball for clout, or aura as they would say. There are fewer and fewer DOGS trying to grind to achieve their dreams because they believe in themselves and their work ethic.

High pitch counts and heavy usage on the mound is an obvious main contributor to poor arm health in young baseball players. An overlooked contributor is playing a position right before and/or after their innings are done.

Parents: If your child can't find 30 mins outside team practice to work on their game daily, then they're just interested in success and they're not really committed. Which is OK. Just help them find the thing/sport they are interested in and will commit too.
