I am pleased to mention our new article: "Targeting the function of the transentorhinal cortex to identify early cognitive markers of Alzheimer’s disease", in Cognitive, Affective, & Behavioral Neuroscience. doi.org/10.3758/s13415…

ChatGPT generates fake citations to research papers that don't even exist. But you can make ChatGPT give you references to (real) published papers. Here's how to do it:

Enjoying the Spring #Hippocampal 🧠 Research Conference at #Verona. So good to see lots of #ECRs present their research. Thanks to the organisers Spring Hippocampal Research Conference 2025, chairs and speakers. 4 more days to go!

It was exciting to present at the "Modulation of hippocampal-dependent memory "-symposium at the Hippocampal Spring Conference in Verona and to hear about all this wonderful work done in animals and humans! Thanks to Tomonori Takeuchi@🇩🇰Denmark, Aarhus for inviting me and thanks to all the other speakers!

Today I learned that Columbia University will not be promoting me or putting me up for tenure. I have multiple active grants (including an R01 and a CAREER award) plenty of publications, a teaching award, and a history of DEI advocacy. Open to all opportunities in and out of academia.

🚨 New preprint! Navigational systems in the human brain dynamically code for past, present, and future trajectories biorxiv.org/content/10.110… We found both egocentric and allocentric coding in the same moments in time, with additional coding of future and past trajectories. 🧵1/8

How we are evaluated by others has critical consequences for our careers. Decisions about publications, grants, promotions, & tenure depend on input from peers. But there are numerous documented biases in peer review. We review these biases & call for a better way forward👇🏽

Supervising a new group of thesis students I was surprised to see how many of them still print their papers/articles. American Psychological Association How much paper could we save if references would be single- rather than double-spaced according to APA-guidelines? Imo, a simple change, major effect!

Our new Frontiers for Young Minds article about how exploring new environments can boost different types of memory is out! It's geared toward a young audience (kids age 11-14) and presents results from a public science project w/ Judith Schomaker and NEMO Science Museum kids.frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…

Reviewer comment: “It is recommended that the PI include in the proposal a collaborator who is an expert in bone marrow imaging.” What the actual f*ck? I am the expert in bone marrow imaging! 🤯🤯🤯 How do you respond to a comment like this?

Good news with a pending grant, so I will be posting an ad for postdoctoral researcher opening soon. In the meantime, if you know anyone interested in interactions b/w event cognition, attention/perception, and spatial/episodic memory, please have them reach out to me!

I was reading 2023 Nobel laureate Katalin Kariko's book, Breaking Through. She was brutally honest about the academic system in US. And, here is an example section from her book.
