Why does doctors pay restoration seem to cost so much? Here’s some simple maths to help explain. We’re not asking the Government for extras, just for our pay to be whole again.

The rest of the economy has caught up (as per the charts), now its the turn of the public sector.

John Burn-Murdoch Financial Times Office for National Statistics (ONS) NHS England Transformation Tom Calver The Times and The Sunday Times Ben Zaranko Institute for Fiscal Studies Billy Palmer Nuffield Trust 18/ Another annoyance is that politicians, the media, and even some of the experts above have conflated pay loss figures with pay restoration figures (or not corrected journos who make this mistake). There's a great little @thebma video explaining this 👇 x.com/TheBMA/status/…

Take £100. Erode it by 26.3% you have £73.70. To get back to £100 you need 35.7%. That's NOT a "pay rise" as such, just restoring what you had.

DrG No they really weren’t - it’s a bit conerning you do t know how to look at a basic graph and work this stuff out. Look at the waiting listing more closely and you see WLs dip each winter - I suspect as people on the waiting list die whilst the NHS rots

Ofwat's letter confirming we have already paid water companies all of the money needed to build and operate a properly functioning sewage system. WCs 'certify' annual they've had our money. Q: Where's our money gone, what happened to it, when do we get a refund?

The large majority of PAs going through university now do not seem to have a clinical background. After all, that’s not the point in the role. But meanwhile Barry is very happy to admit to breaking the law and notes how this undermines strike action. Fantastic. Everything is

Stick with one speciality? That’s also not true Barry. This seems to have gone absolutely terribly for you. If you ever wanted evidence that not getting media training is extremely damaging then inadvertently admitting to breaking the law seems a good example.

Hi, Imperial NHS 💙, please may you clarify this for us? For any non regulated non doctor to request scans with ionising radiation it is illegal. What ‘special protocol’ do you have that evades the law?

Eilidh 🦀 “Don’t need overseeing so much…”. — SOOO telling about this consultant ant their ethos. “Clinical background…nursing,..physio..” — is he confused with ANP/ACP..? “Request MRIs” — considering in most/all hospitals MR requests are SpR/above or Cons only….. interesting 1/2
