It is so beautiful to see how dedicated are female #coral colonies of Astroides calycularis to protecting their larvae in their tentacules until maturation. It is reproduction period in the island of Ischia, in CO2 vent and ambient pH sites! 4Oceansmopga IMEV-Institut de la Mer de Villefranche CHOC LOV

Had a fantastic day at the Villefranche-sur-Mer Marine Station today to present our work on #choanoflagellates & #ctenophores. Thankful for the invitation by PhD students & postdocs, especially Julia Ramon Mateu for organizing a wonderful day IMEV-Institut de la Mer de Villefranche LBDV Villefranche Clytia group LBDV

The PhD students and postdocs LBDV Villefranche IMEV-Institut de la Mer de Villefranche had a great day hosting Dr Pawel Burkhardt . Thank you for sharing your beautiful work. It’s been a pleasure hosting you at the lab and exchanging science with you. Come back soon!

In Clytia embryos, a single Wnt ligand source independently orients PCP to guide morphogenesis and regulates axial gene expression. Was this coupling mechanism at the origin of animal axis specification? biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Elegant study led by Tsuyoshi Momose LBDV Villefranche
