When we proposed the Bloor Bike lane pilot, we also proposed a rigorous third-party economic study. It was done and found a financial benefit to local businesses, on top of the significant safety improvements to ALL road users with minimal delays.

Blaming the public for crowded hospitals when we have the fewest beds and staff in the OECD and spend less than any province takes real chutzpah. Premier Ford can imagine spending $200 billion on a tunnel to nowhere but not the $2 billion a year that would end hallway healthcare.

The people Ford and Sarkaria want riding in traffic aren't all "hardcore cyclists". They're mothers, fathers, and friends. Sons and daughters. Just trying to get to work or dinner or do some shopping. Scoring points in a dumb culture war isn't worth putting lives at risk.
