KOOKABURRA CINEMA UPDATE After severe storm damage forced Mundaring’s Outdoor Kookaburra Cinema to close in January, the popular community venue is set to reopen, thanks to the work of Wooroloo Prison Farm’s S95 crew.

This year’s Gidgegannup Show brought out the best in the men in care at Wooroloo Prison Farm. The prisoners not only helped set up the annual community event, but their art and craft, and farm-grown produce from Wooroloo went on display with prize-winning results.

A multi-agency partnership is making sure support crews are prepared to help protect WA communities. Minimum security Section 95 prisoners are being trained by Parks and Wildlife Service, Western Australia to keep water bombers in the air, providing critical support to firefighters on the ground.
