Today is R U OK Day! 💛 A national day of action to remind everyone that every day is the day to ask, “Are you OK?” and support those struggling with life's ups and downs. The KAHRA team had a yarn about how each of us might ask 'R U OK?' Have you checked in on anyone lately?

The KAHRA Network for Aboriginal Researchers had their last catchup for the year. This catchup was based around ethics but also had deadly yarns around the room connecting, sharing stories and inspiring one another around best practice for Aboriginal research.

Kim and Abby went to Beagle Bay to return the findings of a research project back to the community. The KAHRA team had helped with the project as a fee-for-service activity. The findings help to understand how Beagle Bay clinic provides a high standard of care for its patients.🫶

The Kimberley Aboriginal Health Research Model (KAHRM), a handbook guiding research for Kimberley Aboriginal health and wellbeing coming soon! Years of work has been put in behind the scenes from our Kimberley leaders in ensuring research in the Kimberley is done the proper way.

Abby-Rose Cox successfully submitted her PhD. Titled “Mingoke”. meaning, making better - A Culturally strong social and emotional well-being programs helping engage First Nations youth in education. Years of hard work and dedication, what an amazing achievement!

Local Kimberley women gathering together in Naarm to be part of the Australian Evaluation Conference. Such a great opportunity to network and meet other deadly evaluators across the world. 🙌 Thank you AES for providing us with a conference grant to be able to attend. 🫶

On the 3rd October 2024, KAHRA held its 3rd Forum, based on the theme: ‘Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research and Evaluation’. At the Forum we have finally launched the KAHRM, you can find this on our website.
