Big belated congrats to Emmanouil Angelidakis, whose paper is out from when he was a visiting ETH Zürich master's student in our lab last year! Check out Emmanouil's vascularized in vitro model of #thrombosis, with applications for cancer cell #extravasation. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…

The Kamm Lab MIT Dept of BE is excited to have four talks at #BMES2023 this year - a quadruple header on Friday! Check out what our lab members have been up to: postdoc Zhengpeng (Jason) Wan, grad student Ellen Kan, and former postdoc (now PI!) Sarah Shelton😊

Very proud of our postdoc Elena Cambria, whose poster (Influence of Primary Tumor Stiffness on Metastatic Progression via “Cell Mechanical Memory”) won the 1st place prize at #metnet2023! 🎉🥇

We are so proud of Mouhita Humayun for being named a 2024 Koch Institute at MIT Postdoctoral Fellow!! 🌟 This fellowship from the Ludwig Center at MIT will support Mouhita's research into the role of cytoskeletal contractility and shear stress on tumor cell survival during metastasis.

Huge congrats to Elena Cambria for being awarded her second Swiss National Science Foundation Postdoc.Mobility fellowship!! This fellowship will support Elena’s project on investigating the mechanisms of tumor cell mechanical memory to combat metastasis! 🎉👏🏻

🔥 Hot off the press 🔥 We are excited to share our Springer Nature Nature Reviews Cancer perspective on the role of cell mechanical memory in cancer metastasis, led by MIT Dept of BE postdoc Elena Cambria! Link: rdcu.be/dwlLA

Huge congrats to Gio, Elena Cambria, and our other lab members + collaborators on this paper! Check out their work on building vascularized models of breast cancer desmoplasia for improved drug delivery 🎉

Excited to share another recent paper from our group in collab with Guillermo García-Cardeña Brigham and Women's Pathology! 🎉 Postdoc Adriana Blazeski led this study on engineering microvascular networks with KLF2-based flow sensors: authors.elsevier.com/c/1jNTPWWN0~IgT

ICYMI - we're happy to share another recent paper in Biomaterials, led by Tuan Nguyen, Ellen Kan, and Mouhita Humayun! With Marengo Therapeutics and Dana-Farber, we explore mechanisms of targeting monocyte recruitment in a vascularized model of the TME: authors.elsevier.com/c/1jcP6WWN0~InV

Our recent review on modeling neurodegenerative diseases using organ-on-a-chip technologies was just selected for the 10th anniversary edition of Wiley Advanced Science! ICYMI, check out the article by postdocs Francesca Pramotton and Sarah Spitz: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ad…

We are so proud of our postdoc Xun Wang, Ph.D. for winning 1st place in last week’s MIT Research Slam competition!! 🎤🌟 Xun won the postdoc category with his talk titled “Engineering a human brain to cure Alzheimer’s disease” MIT Dept of BE MIT Career Advising & Professional Development

Congrats to our postdoc Sina Kheiri for being awarded the CMC Microsystems 2024 Douglas R. Colton Medal for Research Excellence!! We are excited to see where his research (co-advised by Prof. Ritu Raman) goes next! 🌟🏅
