As a rancher, I’m in support of the tariffs for agriculture products. This will be a short term struggle but hopefully it will level the playing field and push for American Beef. As with anything, this causes pressure on consumers in the short term. Let’s save our ranches!

So what we are doing these days, well…we’ve added about 1,500 acres of grazing land, increased our cow herd, selling steers to several meat companies, raising colts, consulting for ranchers and meat processors, and helping ranchers with financing their operations. Blessed!

Yes small farms are trendy on social media but we need medium and large scale ranchers too. In order to provide a sustainable beef supply, we have to build back cattle herd numbers! Each of us could learn something from one another about the business!

This pasture holds my money maker cows. I’ve been buying poor, thin bred cows and my neighborhood distillery needed to get rid of some wet barley so these Moma’s are getting tipsy and fat! Otherwise they would only be on grass. Just trying to help grow herds and not kill cows!

Let’s talk about MRNA shots for cattle. Testing has only been done with ML IBR shots which is needed if you are bringing in cattle from different environments i.e. feedyards or buying sale barn cattle. There are no approved MRNA shots for cattle yet. If they do, a killed virus

I believe in multiple lines of income in business. Aside from our yearling operation, we buy gaps in the market. I bought this set of poor bred cows, they all are 7-8 months bred. The calf should pay for the cow. Liquidity is key for stability and long term expansion.
