Check out our spotlight article in Trends in Genetics written with Michael Berger highlighting the recently published method for genetic ancestry inference from cancer-derived data by Belleau et al (PMID: 36351074). authors.elsevier.com/c/1gowscQbJ7Wj1

Today our important study on air pollutants in the promotion of lung cancer has been published in nature led by Will Hill Emilia Lim Clare Weeden Swanton Lab ...Thread below🧵nature.com/articles/s4158…

Today’s first presenter is Henry Walch, MS, of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. #AACR23 Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Congrats to Henry Walch Henry Walch, whose poster was selected for the #AACR23 press program. He presented novel insights into the genomic basis of racial disparities in #colorectalcancer. Learn more about his research. #crcsm mskcc.org/news/why-color…

Great science by Madison Darmofal (#5440) and Miika Mehine, Ph.D. (#5214) at the #AACR23 poster session, presenting novel insights from #MSKimpact tumor sequencing data. 💪🧬

The publication of the whole genomes from the US AllofUsResearch cohort is great to see, but the choice of how to represent an overview of the genetic relationships has (rightly) drawn controversy, in particular how the concepts of ethnicity and race are mapped to it.

✨New paper alert Cancer Discovery✨ - GDD-ENS distinguishes 38 cancer types (>96% of patients) w/ high accuracy using routinely collected DNA sequencing data #MSKIMPACT and generalizes well to other gene panels w/o retraining - CNAs (arm/gene level) are key features for classification

Prior to the #AACR24 session on genetic ancestry, a good read is this Cancer Discovery "Genetic Ancestry Correlates with Somatic Differences in a Real-World Clinical Cancer Sequencing Cohort" doi.org/10.1158/2159-8…
