I get asked: why pediatric psychology? POC are at increased risk for negative health outcomes! Why? Not just because of money, not just because of education, but because of the COLOR OF THEIR SKIN. This is a problem in America. This is what I’m fighting against. This is my “why”.

Protect your mind, body, and soul. Take a moment to check in with yourself and remind yourself of your purpose. Invest time in self-care; don't sacrifice it for work. Make sure your actions align with your values and energize your soul. #SPPAC2024 #blackinpsych

Just had the sweetest experience! My patient started jumping and clapping when she saw me, saying, "I'm so excited to have a Black therapist! I've never had a Black therapist." Moments like these are why I do what I do. #BlackInPsych
