Almost a year ago I set up ‘The Adventurous Book Club’ on Instagram, aiming to connect like minded adventurers through the love of reading. The club has grown. We’ve now been on a real group adventure and this morning saw our first 6:30am virtual chat ☕️🤍 my heart is so full ⛰

It was a pleasure to be invited on board the RRS Sir David Attenborough this week for a pre-launch media day.💙 I was able to interview several researchers on board, and it was great to hear how GIS and Remote Sensing is being utilised across all the different areas of research🌍

AI and #RemoteSensing is moving fast! 🔥 In ~2 weeks @MetaAI released a model that 'Segment Anything' (SAM) (tree segmentation test by Dr. Matheus Pinheiro Ferreira) and the DINOv2 model that estimates forest height from 0.5m satellite imagery (example research.facebook.com/blog/2023/4/ev…). What is next? 🤯
