Create and Innovate! I wrapped up my first student project with Glowforge right at the end of the year. Students designed a light up learning tool. Here are a few of the results.

Garden volunteer days MST Magnet School gives everyone a chance to see new growth in the garden. Today was a big battle against some squash bugs and checking out the carrots.

Summer Garden episode7 MST Magnet School . Sadly, we lost the squash bug battle (although a master gardener advised that squash bugs almost always win) . The critters are so determined to get to the sweet cantaloupe that they chewed through the bed cover. Okra is growing strong!

Summer Garden MST Magnet School episode 8. We are actually dealing with too much water this summer—which hasn’t ever happened for me! Okra harvested and carrots, melons, and flowers are thriving. Squirrels are still getting all the cantaloupe.

Summer garden MST Magnet School #9. Potato vines were damaged by too much water. Some small potatoes harvested. It turns out the indoor garden can have pests too, the jalapeños had greenhouse whiteflies, and had to mostly be removed. Okra, beans, and luffa growing!

Summer Garden MST Magnet School #10. We kept our garden in pretty good shape this summer for the students’ return. Our Pre-K and Kinder friends will have carrots to harvest! A busted sprinkler hose made tomatoes sad. The pollinator plants are thriving!!
