Someone doesn’t mind me being on sick leave and horizontal for the day…Just wish I didn’t feel faint and about to throw up every time I try to get put of bed or eat anything 😢

IBS is so debilitating. Been ill this week, and infections always trigger a flare-up. It’s also been much worse since abdominal surgery. Absolutely crippling pain the last few days 😢

Having been knocked for 6 last week, I’ve now a sinus infection. When will this end?! Never used to get sinus infections, but every viral thing I’ve had in the last year has turned into one.

Historically, much of the gender gap in earnings could be explained by differences in education and occupational choices. However, this year’s economic sciences laureate Claudia Goldin has shown that the bulk of this earnings difference is now between men and women in the same

I think the sign that you enjoy your job is logging on for 5 mins on a Saturday afternoon, not because you feel you have to or because anyone expects it, but because you are really interested in seeing the results. I haven’t felt this way about work since my PhD 😊

Sub 1:17 Oxford Half and 3rd woman. After a marathon 1wk ago, it’s time to give my legs a rest! 3.5 years away from competing, but I’ve really enjoyed returning and found my love of running again. It’s different now, being a mum. I just want to make my son proud and inspire him

Going down with cold number 3 in just 6 weeks. It’s only October 😢 with the kiddo starting nursery in March this year we only got the tail end of the winter bugs earlier in the year, but I can just sense our first full winter nursery season isn’t going to be fun for anyone …

Yesterday was my final day as a JRF Centre for Personalised Medicine, Oxford (+ bsky) St Anne's College. It’s been a fabulous 2 years, and I’ve been privileged to work with an incredible team. If you’d like to pick up the baton, check out the CPM’s previous tweets for how to apply for one of two available JRF roles!

Genuinely how do people afford multiple children? We pay £1800/month on a fulltime nursery place for 14mo old. By the time we’ve paid the mortgage, utility bills and food shopping, there is nothing left each month and we both have decently paid jobs in software design and biotech

This might be the most obtuse pavement parking we've seen. Blocking the whole of the pavement and pushing pedestrians further into the middle of the road. Apparently this is a regular occurrence, says the submitter. Gwenyth Rd Littlemore

Deleting this platform from my phone for a little bit/forever depending on how I get on. Sadly it seems like one can’t have an opinion without getting horrible replies, and the news is depressing enough without doom scrolling even more. On Facebook and WhatsApp if you want me.
