Worth saying, I absolutely share Andy Burnham's desire to see capacity relief on the WCML and in central Manchester. I just think the political call to let others weave engineering myths into a "we can do this cheaper" narrative is the wrong one.

The last time I got a train from Euston, I spent an hour and a half sat on the floor during the lead up to a football match, followed by a platform announcement 5 mins before the train left. As a disabled person, Euston is not a safe station, it needs to be properly rebuilt.
