Andy Burnham here making an intervention ahead of budget/conference -HMT β€œsaying no” to everything could harm growth - clarity needed on whether it’s just a ministry for controlling public spending or one focused on growing the economy (incl outside SE) on.ft.com/3ZxMxoJ

πŸ₯³ I'm excited and delighted to be joining Gareth Dennis on #Railnatter podcast tonight. πŸ’¬ We'll be discussing the origins of Greens for HS2 campaign and our motion finally being debated and passing in Manchester. πŸ•—Watch here from 8pm BST! youtube.com/@GarethDennisTV

I joined Greens for HS2 3 years ago and I could never have guessed then how involved I'd become or how many incredible The Green Party members I'd meet from all over the country. I'm really proud of the role that I've played in changing our rail policy, and of the entire team.

Well Greens for HS2 got things done and changed The Green Party's rail policy into something rational - and this week we are delighted to be joined by key activist and campaigner Emma Garnett to tell us how they did it! πŸš„πŸ’¨ TONIGHT, 8pm: youtube.com/live/xEJFe1jw6…

Worth saying, I absolutely share Andy Burnham's desire to see capacity relief on the WCML and in central Manchester. I just think the political call to let others weave engineering myths into a "we can do this cheaper" narrative is the wrong one.

Here are some ideas to battle the Greens! πŸ’· Introduce a wealth tax πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘¦β€πŸ‘¦ Scrap the 2 child cap 🏞 Pass the Climate and Nature Bill πŸ›’ No new fossil fuels πŸ™ Properly fund local councils 🚌 Invest in public and active transport πŸš„ Build HS2 in full and talk to @Labour4HS2

The Labour Party are busy discussing "the growing threat of the Green Party" at their conference instead of the real issues facing the country. Meanwhile, we're busy pushing for a fairer tax system, removal of the two-child benefit cap and real climate action. Join us today ‡️

This is why The Green Party supports connecting #HS2 to Euston. πŸ‘‡ We simply cannot tackle climate change while our railways are full to bursting. How disabled passengers navigate this crowd is beyond us. It’s unacceptable. HS2 cannot come soon enough. #EustonWeHaveAProblem

The last time I got a train from Euston, I spent an hour and a half sat on the floor during the lead up to a football match, followed by a platform announcement 5 mins before the train left. As a disabled person, Euston is not a safe station, it needs to be properly rebuilt.

Turns out Labour said there were no rules broken (LIE) and now Councillor transphobe has supported a message including unconsentual pornographic images of Sophie Molly. Disgusting

This is the Labour Women's Declaration. Its fundamental assertions are, without mentioning trans women, that trans women are not women, do not face misogynist discrimination (which they say is based on sex not gender identity), and have no right to be part of feminist struggle.

"[Level boarding] will be possible at Old Oak Common and Birmingham: but with the trains increasingly likely to have to run on existing conventional tracks, all the carriages will now be fitted with retractable steps for non-HS2 stations where platforms are lower."

Dear Keir Starmer Phase 2 of HS2 is the cheap bit which has very significant returns economically. Why is this so hard for London based treasury to understand?
