Today the Department of Justice filed a civil lawsuit against the Maine Department of Education for failing to protect women in women’s sports. It’s simple: when women are discriminated against, this DOJ will take action.

I introduced LB89, the Stand With Women Act, to help our state avoid challenges like this. It ensures girls can compete fairly in sports, women have privacy in locker rooms, and those in state custody are safe. It’s about restoring dignity for Nebraska’s women and girls.

All who recognise the injustice of boys taking these girls' opportunities and honours must become the cavalry. We have to support these girls, amplify their voices and keep pressure on sporting bodies to reinstate the sex-based rights that have been taken from them.
