Committed 2025's. Currently, the freshman class of 2024 who have entered the transfer portal have realized great players exist everywhere on rosters. That your success in club soccer doesn't always translate in college, especially if you didn't put in the work your senior year

College Coach asking about a keeper: “Can she take her own goal kicks? What’s her distances look like?” Me: “sorry, her club only plays short from the back” Club Coaches, please let & teach you players play the right ball to the right place, even if it’s a pass over distance.

Recruits, If you’re afraid of contact, if you’re afraid to head the ball, if you don’t challenge 50/50 balls, don’t worry about the recruiting process because you’re not going to be wanted in college. #CSTruth

Bad Players-Don’t take much seriously. Average Players-Take games seriously. Good Players-Take practice & games seriously. Great Players-Take grades, nutrition, warm-up drills, individual work, weights, conditioning, film study, practice, games, & recovery seriously. #CSTruth

Club Coaches, be honest with your players & their parents. Part of the problem is that you’re telling them that they're a P4 or D1 athlete. In reality, they would never touch the field at one of those programs. It's okay to be a JUCO, NAIA, D3, or D2 athlete. #CSTruth

Players: I know between soccer, school, and just being a kid life is stressful right now. So don’t go weeks without talking to your mom and dad. You’ll never be too old to lean on them when you need them. #CSTruth

Great post. As a club and HS coach i think there is room for both. Many colleges I chat with like to see them out of their club environment. Seeing them in HS intros them to new challenges and allows many to lead that aren't awarded that opportunity in their club environment.

After another weekend of ⚽️ games, I can’t stress this enough: Parents, focus on your own kid! Most parents are getting caught up in everything but their own kid. Too busy second guessing coaches or criticizing other players. Your job? Support your kid. That’s it!

What is Humble Leadership? - Take responsibility after losses - Give credit to others after wins - Speak in terms of “we” and “us” - Do not ever blame others - Have a WE > ME mindset - Treat others with respect - Show gratitude - Don't trash talk - Be kind Play the right way.
