Today we ended a 3 day training organised by Shining Hope for Communities at Kakamega for organisations from Busia,Bungoma and Kakamega enlisted for the #YOUTHVOICE&EMPOWERMENT PROJECT #grant.The training included the review of our budgets,M&E training and financial reporting.

#TETEA team today participated in the unveiling of the “Safe Homes, Safe Spaces” initiative in Kakamega County, during the 16 Days of Activism against Sexual Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). This global campaign seeks to raise awareness and end violence against women and girls.

It was truly heartwarming to witness the transformation and hear about the numerous benefits that Sophy(Widow)and her family have received from adopting agroecology.Below is her bio intensive kitchen garden with diverse crops and a 5 year food forests with 7 layers well lawned.

The TETEA project team expanded its awareness efforts to include Junior JSS students, who are at a critical adolescent stage and often struggle with identity crises. The initiative aimed to help them understand themselves, navigate this phase confidently, and avoid risks such.

Today we finally launched our #THRIVE project which saw more than 500 widows who are beneficiaries of the project in attendance.The project will train widows in establishment of Bio-intensive kitchen gardens and establishment of food trees.

In partnership with Kakamega County Widows Empowerment Kcwepkenya and Kakamega County Government County Government of Kakamega we have established rain harvest dam, solar powered irrigation for seedlings nursery and greenhouse. More than 500 widows will able to establish their kitchen gardens.

The CFSP provides an opportunity for public participation, allowing citizens to voice their concerns and priorities, ensuring that the budget reflects the community's needs. Kcwep's active role highlights its dedication to supporting Kakamega County's sustainable journey.

Today, our project team joined the TETEA Talk Box Committee event at Mukhuyu Primary School, where we were opening talk boxes filled with heartfelt notes from the children, address various #issues and #concerns they face, providing a #safe and #anonymous platform for expression.
