Year 6 have been creating art work based on the work of Henri Rousseau and John Dyer! They first started off sketching a rainforest in the style of Henri or John, then choosing a colour to backwash their art before using a simple colour palette to fill in and add details.

Year 5 have been designing and making their own Anglo-Saxon pots out of clay this week. They all concentrated really hard and were very proud of their finished products.

Year 3 had a great time on their trip to the AeroZone at Manchester Airport today. They took part in lots of different role-play activities, had a talk from PC Pete and even got to visit Terminal 2. What a fantastic day they have had!

Year 2 had a very exciting delivery from 'Pot Gang' (we didn't choose the name). They are very excited to meet Penelope Parsley, Ria the Red Pepper, and Brian the Baby Aubergine as they grow with us in class over the next few weeks!

Today, Year 5 had their Project Chameleon session. Part of the session was dedicated to discussing the dangers of drink driving. They got to wear 'beer goggles' to experience what it feels like to be under the influence of alcohol - it made simple tasks very difficult!

Year 4 had an amazing parent workshop. They enjoyed creating oil lamps with clay, looking at artefacts, a Roman dramatisation on 'Now Press Play', and explored Roman numerals. Many thanks to all the parents who joined in with all the activities and made it a wonderful afternoon!

As part of Wow Week, Year 5 are creating self-portraits in the style of their featured artist: Frida Kahlo. We are using a variety of painting techniques to create a colourful, floral and leafy background like the ones regularly featured in Frida’s own portraits.
