Kellogg lab has been growing fast.. and still hiring! We're looking for postdoctoral fellows passionate about cryo-EM, transposons, and protein design. Structural Biology at St. Jude Children's Hospital has top notch facilities, including a Krios G4 Cold-FEG.. and still expanding! Know a superstar? maybe you?

I'm organizing a Keystone symposium, along with Liz Kellogg ❄️🔬 and Possu Huang Lab, on machine learning and macromolecules. Mar 23-26 in Keystone, Colorado. We have a great lineup and deadlines are coming up soon! keystonesymposia.org/conferences/co…

Liz Kellogg ❄️🔬 lab is seeking an outstanding, driven bioinformatic scientist passionate about the dark matter of the genome. St Jude combines the best of academia and industry..and lately, I've been so thankful for the stability provided by my institute. We are unwavering in our

So happy that I can finally share the results of my first postdoc paper with Michael Baym!! Turns out plasmids are an amazing system to study multi-scale evolution and we can track within-cell and between-cell dynamics! Here’s a photo of plasmids competing inside cells in a colony (1/n)

Thrilled that our work on this problem with Karel Břinda, Zamin Iqbal, and others is out in Nature Methods today! We used phylogenetic compression (described in the thread) to compress every microbe ever sequenced onto a flash drive so that it can be searched with a laptop!

science.org/content/articl… Really cool article today in Science Magazine about transposons and efforts across the field to target LINE-1 in cancer, Alzheimers, lupus etc!
