Yesterday, the #CampusFranceUK team had the pleasure of visiting University of Warwick for a pre-departure session aimed at students who will soon be studying in 🇫🇷. Thank you to the students and colleagues for the warm welcome!

Really hoping to get to see #LeBleuDuCaftan tomorrow evening or next week at the Warwick Arts Center. Saw the trailer in Marseille while I was at ‘Le Printemps du Cinéma’ (was watching ‘Empire of Light’ with the incredible performance of Olivia Coleman) and was blown away.

Nice to see French cinema straying away from the overrepresentation of homosexuality as a problem: #LaGraine, a light-hearted comedy-drama on homoparenthood and PMA for all, which offers awareness of the complexity of the procedure for lesbian couples.

Kicking off the week with the best 2 days of each academic year: final year oral exams. Why? Because one of the most fulfilling parts of my job is seeing how far in confidence and skill students have grown in their years at Warwick.

I am pleased to announce that as of August 2023 I will be starting my new position as Assistant Professor in French Studies within the Warwick SMLC. I would like to thank both my colleagues and students for their support in helping me to get this promotion.

Looking forward to be taking part in the Questioning Language Teaching Orthodoxy in HE Symposium in Leeds on the 28th of June. Our panel will be presenting & discussing how we are approaching decolonising & decentering the French language curriculum at Warwick.

This week our colleagues from the Warwick Applied Linguistics ran an English language teaching workshop for our assistants going abroad next year & future PGCE students. It was very much hands-on: students and staff alike got the chance to try out lesson activities as learners & teachers!

Today I had lunch with one of my final year tutees, an exemplary student who will achieve big things, and they surprised me with my first ever thank you card (!) and a bottle of this vintage French wine. So thoughtful and I am so grateful, more than words can express.

Very thrilled to be taking part in the Journée Pays today in Paris, looking forward to strengthing existing scientific and academic relations between 🇫🇷🇬🇧 and developing new ones with French and and francophone partners alike.

Thank you Campus France for the Journée Pays organized in Paris yesterday. It was a pleasure to new colleagues and discuss future academic bilateral agreements and mobility collaborations between 🇫🇷🇺🇸 HE institutions.

Had a wonderful time in Leeds with my team at the #QLTOinHE conf sharing best practice, hearing great presentations on native speakerism & presenting our work on decolonising the French language curriculum. Thank you to both organisers and colleagues for the fruitful discussions.

A wonderful series of presentations at The Residence Abroad Conference with colleagues from Warwick Centre for Applied Linguistics and other HE institutions. Heard some great talks and ideas on YAB podcasts, language exchange programs, Turing funding, resilience & more!
