Great visit today in beautiful Kangerlussuaq with Government Greenland Premier Múte Bourup Egede. I’m grateful for the strong partnership between the United States and Greenland and I look forward to deepening our cooperation.

Had a moment to see a breathtaking view of Greenland’s ice caps and fjords. Unfortunately, Arctic warming threatens these views, and more importantly, the surrounding communities’ livelihoods. We must act to address the climate crisis.

Stopped to thank U.S. National Science Foundation, New York National Guard, and Greenlandic health authorities for ensuring the continued operations of Summit Station - a vital climate change research hub - throughout the pandemic. These efforts are critical to our climate action.

Had a very constructive trip to Denmark, Iceland, and Greenland. Together with our partners, we'll work to achieve shared goals like combating the climate crisis, maintaining a peaceful Arctic region, and deepening economic cooperation.

Arctic Encounters (Arctic Encounter) in Anchorage, Alaska was a great venue to meet old and new friends of Nasiffik, as well as to discuss Arctic matters and especially the uncertain geopolitical future in the region and beyond.
