Kenny Ardouin Discusses his research into residential camps for young people with a cleft lip and/or palate in New Zealand

It’s been incredible to be at Appearance Research #AM10 this week to connect with colleagues, share our work University of Canterbury and to learn more from others working in the visible difference space. Also was amazing to have my presentation turned into art in real time by the very talented Eleanor Beer | Graphic Recording & Facilitation!

I’ve arrived in Milan for the 2024 European Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association Congress! Wonderful catching up with some familiar faces this evening Kenny Ardouin Gareth Davies European Cleft Org. Looking forward to the week ahead! ☀️ 🤓 #ECPCA Appearance Research

Final day at #ECPCA2024 today! Excited to be sharing our work from University of Canterbury on clinician perspectives of the process of transitioning to adulthood within cleft at 16.30 in Bovara Palace. Also check out our poster on UC’s hybrid SLT/Clin Psy cleft clinic in partnership with Appearance Research!

I’ve had a very productive week in Bristol working with Dr Nicola Marie Stock on data analysis for the SLT and Clin Psy hybrid clinic and Aotearoa Cleft Camp projects of my PhD. Lovely to be able to visit the team Appearance Research and share what we’ve been up to University of Canterbury at CAR Weekly too! 🙌🏻

It's live! In my TEDxBristol talk, I speak about my vision for a society where diversity in appearance is valued and normalised. Instead of expecting people who are 'different' to blend in, let's celebrate the beauty in difference. youtu.be/4amN3v5jYQA?si…

It has been a pleasure to open the Smile Train #CleftCon as your keynote speaker today. Thank you for inviting me to part of this amazing event bringing together the cleft community. Really looking forward to all the sessions throughout the event! 🙌🏻

Went to see #ADifferentMan here in Christchurch today - an excellent film that everyone ought to see to gain insight into the world of having a facial difference. Incredibly clever and hitting all the emotions. Stunning performances including the spectacular Adam Pearson 👏

It was a privilege to be this year's keynote speaker at Smile Train #CleftCon last month. If you missed the event and would like to watch the presentation and short doco produced by Smile Train and the media team University of Canterbury, you can watch it here: smiletrain.org/2024/11/26/you…
