The scenes in Myanmar following Friday’s earthquake are devastating.  That’s why we are announcing £10m in aid to support the urgent humanitarian efforts taking place to help those most in need.

We welcome the temporary ceasefire announcements in Myanmar and expect the military and others to respect these, to stop violence against civilians and allow aid to reach those who need it. Read more about the UK response: gov.uk/government/new…

The UNSC is clear - humanitarian aid must reach the most vulnerable following Myanmar’s devastating earthquake. All parties must allow aid to reach people in need, and humanitarian workers must be protected.

We are appalled to see this evidence of airstrikes by the military regime during their ceasefire and at a time of national disaster We call for all actors to protect civilians, for unimpeded humanitarian access, and for the military regime to uphold the ASEAN 5 Point Consensus

Today is Aung San Suu Kyi's 80th birthday. She will spend today, alongside thousands of other political prisoners, in detention in Myanmar at the hands of the Myanmar regime. Release Aung San Suu Kyi. Release all those arbitrarily detained.
