Before we left Kenya, I got to connect with the awesome team NeuroKids who are improving the care for kids with spina bifida & hydrocephalus around the world! So much overlap with BethanyKids, we look forward to future partnerships. Thanks Kijabe Kahawa for another great lunch :)

Getting to see the world is a privilege and this last trip had us transiting through Doha and walking through "The Orchard" in the middle of the night... for the Nashvillians, it had an Opryland feel- sans river though. Beautiful as that was, we're glad to be back home in Kenya!

Throwback to one of my better creations- a knot tying trainer made from an empty box! The phones were there to weigh it down for teaching but then I challenged the residents to use proper suture and practice tying down to an empty box! #finishingschool #pedsurgbestsurg

Last week was a big week of special visitors as we also welcomed Dr. Dan Poenaru, former BethanyKids AIC Kijabe Hospital pediatric surgeon! It was wonderful to show him how much the hospital has grown and catch up with the team!

Guess who's back??? Cheesin' with both fellows before 7:30am on a Monday makes for a great start to my Doc of Day week. Working back at IU a couple of weeks each year is such a joy! #PedSurgBestSurg
