For their class assembly, 4HE retold the story of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. It was an excellent performance and what was great to see was the enjoyment in the children’s (and parents/carers) faces!

Year 2 children were given the task of designing their own sweet version of the traditional East African dish, ugali.

As part of E-safety week, children in Year 6 took part in a live lesson about how to stay safe online, looking out for scams and the potential dangers of using social media. They created their own posters and had a fun, interactive session using Now Press Play! nowpressplay

Reception and Year 1 had a fascinating morning learning about the planets and moons in our solar system. This was an extra special experience as this learning took place in the Wonderdome! 🚀🪐

Our clerk Janet received the “outstanding contribution as a governance professional/clerk” award an Ingrid won the award for “longstanding governor” at the Southwark Governors Awards. A huge congratulations and thanks to them both!

For Mental Health Week, children in Year 6 discussed the importance of being self-aware and how to manage their emotions. They created informative posters, linked to this year's theme 'Know Yourself, Grow Yourself!'

For year 4’s history topic on WW2, the children took a trip around their local area to see the impact the war had on our neighbourhood.

After their trip to the Wallace Collection, year 4 have practised sketching portraits and facial features. To coincide with their WW2 topic for history, the children drew portraits of WW2 soldiers and nurses. They all did a great job - well done Year 4!

Year 5 have been learning about 'Living Things and Their Habitats' in Science. To consolidate this learning, they went on a trip to Deen City Farm to visit and learn more about birds and different mammals.

For World Book Day, the children dressed as their favourite book characters and took part in shared reading with other year groups 📚

Keyworth was visited by author Sharika Chauhan, the creator of Maya’s Worldly Wonders Series. She delivered an assembly where she read some extracts from her books, talked about how she became an author and answered children’s questions. Thank you! Sharika Chauhan

Year 5 had the incredible opportunity to visit the Royal Festival Hall to watch the Philharmonia Orchestra perform. The highlight of the day was singing along using British Sign Language to a beautiful song, making the experience even more special and inclusive!

Pedal Power! 🚲 Year 4 and 5 students had a blast in the Fix-a-Bike workshop, where they learned essential skills like repairing punctures, pumping tyres, and fixing chains and brakes. A great way to keep their bikes in top shape and boost their confidence on the road!

Our golden time cross stitch group are becoming more skilled at their new hobby 🪡🧵⭐️

One of the activities during Golden Time this week was to make elephant toothpaste.

Year 4 have been studying the WW2 artist Wilfred Stanley Haines. They have really enjoyed experimenting with his painting styles of the London skyline during the Blitz and have created some impressive recreations.

Year 4 visited the London Docklands Museum to expand their learning on what life was like in London during WW2. They enjoyed sitting in an Anderson shelter, finding out about eyewitness accounts of the Blitz and trying on costumes from history of the Docklands.

Red Nose Day is an annual fundraising campaign created by Comic Relief to help raise awareness of and put an end to child poverty. At Keyworth, we raised money to support this cause – thank you to everyone who took part and donated.

As part of this term’s topic, Women Who Changed the World, the year 2 children participated in a drama workshop about Edith Cavell to discover her incredible acts of bravery in helping soldiers in World War One.
