2. We can't admit patients quickly enough as we don't have enough beds. We can't discharge people in a timely way as our privatised care system isn't efficient & can cherry pick patients. What happens? Elective procedures are cancelled & waiting lists increase.

Spoke to on call Gynae Reg today about a patient. Rather than seeing her for an acute issue he suggested we try a certain treatment. What if she’s no better? I asked. His reply - send her to A&E! Under gynae? I asked? No - just to A&E. No wonder A&E is busy! Just not due to GPs!

🔴We are outraged and strongly condemn the killing of our colleague, Fadi Al-Wadiya, this morning in #Gaza City. Fadi was a 33-year-old physiotherapist, father of three who joined MSF International in 2018. He was killed while cycling to work near the MSF clinic where he was providing care.

Making my way home from work in the ED and I am wrung out. I, however, don't have to worry about being targeted and killed for being a healthcare worker. Fadi was my age, a HCW and a father just like me. He was our colleague. Speak up.
